The W. P. A. workers transcribed many of the family Bibles, and tombstones within the county in 1939. Most of these have never been updated or re-transcribed. In the case of the cemeteries, many of the stones are now missing or un-readable and these records are all that remain of those graves. The Bible records are normally not available to the public as they are found in private homes and collections, so they are worth their weight in gold for the time period.
