Knox County, created in 1792, is in middle east Tennessee at the confluence to the French Broad and Holston Rivers thus making the Tennessee River. This estate book contains the wills, inventories and settlements of many of the estates. A careful reading is necessary to obtain all of the information in this volume.Example from this volume:
“The last will and Testament of WILLIAM MONDAY deceased, was produced to Court for probate whereupon, Samuel Montgomery and Robert McComb’s subscribing witnesses thereto made Oath that they saw the said William Monday sign seal & heard him pronounce publish and declare the same to be his last will and Testament and that he was at the time of publishing the same of sound mind and memory according to the best of their knowledge and belief. [Here follows the listing of his children, wife etc.]
