Hawkins County created in 1786 while still a part of North Carolina, but also a part of the State of Franklin, it has been an important county in upper east Tennessee. These early Circuit Court Minutes are full transcriptions of the cases presented to the court for the time period shown. The full file of the cases are not given, but the abstract of the cases was presented in the minutes.

October term 1825 - William Bradley vs George Argenbright - “In Equity By consent of the Parties by their attornies [sic] this cause is set for hearing at the next term of this court and by consent of the parties by their attornies [sic] It is ordered that they have four months to take depositions.”
