Yazoo Land Claims of Georgia 1795 - 1805
The Yazoo Land sales from the State of Georgia to various other states released over six million acres of lands in their western Territory in Mississippi and Alabama. The various Land com-panies purchased the land, then resold them only to find the title was not clear and the Federal Government had to purchase all of the land back. The claimants are from all over the United States.
